Summer time, all these watermelons in the field next to where I live waiting to be collected… from the trail back into the field, like a starry night, but on the ground… and with watermelons instead of stars… 😉
Anyway, just by looking vaguely at them, you can see that they are in slightly different shapes and sizes, but none of them stand out. No extra big watermelon or real weirdly shaped one. But what happens when I point the camera at them? Many watermelons fade away, and the camera focuses on one or two of them.
You can now assess the watermelon’s actual size. Compare it to others. You can see the scratches on it, the stem (is it too dry?), you can decide if it’s ready to be picked and eaten.
Soooo many judgments are projected on a single watermelon just because the focus is on it.
Does the watermelon try to escape from being in the spotlight? Is it trying to make itself small or hide his flaws? Does the watermelon next to it try to draw the attention to itself?
Obviously not.
If you’re looking to thrive at what you do, sometimes it means you will be seen, you’ll stand out and the focus will be on you!
People will see your work and doings, and they will have a whole bunch of judgments projected at you.
But will you make yourself smaller just for not being judged?
Or do you just keep doing what you do and being what you are, regardless, because you are way more important than the willingness not to be judged?
I hope it’s the second!
I don’t say I’m quite there yet, but I sure am on the way… When I was finally ready to be seen and to be judged, I was able to facilitate my very own special meditations, and people were able to enjoy and benefit from them. That goes for other energetic processes or classes I give, that involve me REALLY being there, and not hiding under the “smart lecturer’s” hat (or any other disguise), or hiding in the crowd with all the other watermelons…
Let people enjoy the gifts that you have to give. Let you be you, with all your flaws and glory. Shine bright my friends!
